Kelly Klosure Fans,
Here at Kelly Klosure, we pride ourselves on creating highly engineered buildings and structures that are flexible, modular, and inherently – relocatable. We have a variety of options that make relocation simple, whether you are moving your building a few yards or a few hundred miles. And as you can expect from all Kelly Klosure products, our relocatable buildings are designed to the latest IBC, UFC and AISC structural standards.
Kelly Klosure buildings can be designed to be crane lifted as one intact unit. At times, customers that will be lifting a building over critical equipment (such as nuclear related equipment) require that the lifting points on the building be tested and certified to strict specifications for a higher safety margin. Kelly Klosure offers lifting lugs designed by a registered professional engineer, load tested by a certified material testing lab and weld inspected with all documentation and test reports.
Shown here are lifting lugs for a building supplied to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. These lugs are being tested based upon the building being lifted with a 4 point pick. The lugs are designed so that any two lugs can carry the weight of the entire building and are then tested to 210% of that total load and held for 10 minutes.

Kelly Klosure is always working to maximize the functionality and performance of our materials. Since we are committed to continual improvement, there will soon be more news on our standard assembly lugs, so stay tuned.
SMART AND GREEN
Kelly Klosure recently completed a Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado.

The building included a built-in clerestory for natural light and heating, as well as a wall-mounted exterior “solar wall” for heating air. Constructed on top of a curb/stem-wall foundation with greater than 99% recycled steel panel frames, and R-34 rigid insulation in the roof panels, the building is an example of highly engineered sustainable design.
HEARD IN THE FIELD
“Kelly Klosure has served the Fort Devens community for many years in the form of numerous convenient, rapidly erected facilities. The ease of construction of Kelly Klosure structures (buildings, shelters, enclosures, etc) has allowed the Fort Devens Engineering Services to enhance the Troop Training Program by allowing the readily available troops to gain experiences that can, and will, be used in the foreign environment of deployment.”
